Phyllomedusa bicolor
Kambô is the name given to the secretion of the giant monkey frog, a bright green tree frog native to the Amazon Basin.
The frog uses this potent secretion as protection. Indigenous Amazonian peoples have developed distinct ceremonial relationships with it, preserving knowledge of its gathering and application across generations.
John’s practice is shaped by direct experience in the primary forest, including gathering the secretion under the new moon and learning through relationship with the people, frogs and land.

A story carried through generations
A Huni Kuin story tells of a time when illness moved through the tribe. The Pajé entered the forest in ceremony and received a vision from a female spirit of the forest. She showed him the frog, its secretion and the way it could be applied.
He returned to his people with this teaching and became known as Pajé Kampu. The medicine carries his name in some communities and is also known by names including Sapo and Vacina da Floresta.
How the work is held
Kambo creates an intense, short physical response. A carefully held session begins with honest health information and clear preparation, then allows time for observation and recovery.
A private conversation covers your health history, intentions and practical preparation.
Clear guidance supports hydration, arrival and a calm ceremonial setting.
The secretion is placed on small superficial points on the skin and the response is closely attended.
Quiet rest, observation and simple aftercare allow the body to settle after the session.
Kambo has important contraindications and carries physical risks. Share complete medical information before booking and follow the preparation guidance provided for your session.
Ways to attend
Sessions are available privately and for small groups of two to six people.
