Huachuma, also known as San Pedro, is a tall columnar cactus native to the Andes and the name of the entheogenic and medicinal brew prepared from it.
Its medicinal and shamanic use in Peru reaches back to at least 2200 BCE. The medicine served in John’s retreats near Tarapoto and in the Sacred Valley is prepared through a unique process that can take up to four days.
Years of study, practice and spiritual guidance shape every stage, from preparing the cactus to holding the ceremony and supporting integration.
